St. Patrick's Day Parade

The Pearl River St. Patrick's Day Parade is no longer a small local parade. People from all over come to attend the parade. Since we graduated from high school and many of us moved away there has been a tremendous influx of Bronx Irish Catholics to Pearl River. The Irish stores, restaurants and bars has changed the entire atmosphere of the town. The Murphys, Duggans, Farleys and O'Learys all tried to become Americans because they felt that America had been very good to them. Things are different now. It is hard to explain the change but many of you who have been away for 40 or 50 years will see the change. I am not sure it a change for the best.
