Pearl River High School

In 1905, with the creation of a high school, the New York State Board of Regents granted the district its high school charter. To accomodate the 19 students now enrolled in grades 7 thru 12, the roof of the original one-story building was raised and two classrooms were created in the building's former attic.
The first four graduating classes of PRHS consisted of one student each:

1906: Mable Johnson
1907: Adelaide Miller
1908: L. Edith Felter
1909: Elizabeth Tappey
It was not until 1910 that PRHS graduated more than one student:
H. Margery Felter
Lydia Paultauf Resch
Deidrich Von Soosten

I take it that Diedrich Von Soosten was our own Dick Von Soosten's dad. That is interesting stuff.
